But I cant get the planter to go back down. And yes the stops are out of the hydraulic cylinders. I don't have the electric marker control hooked up yet, but I don't think that would cause this problem. Im running out of things to try to fix it. Anyone ever have something similar happen to them before?

Make sure all connections are good and clean and bright.Mike WheelsRegularJoined: 06 May 2010Posts: 28Posted: Sun May 11, 2014 5:54 am Post subject: Re: Case IH 900 Corn PlanterSo that means the control valve assembly on the planter needs power to open the electronic valves to leave planter go down?

It must not need power to get it to go up then.Dave H (MI)Tractor GuruJoined: 17 Dec 2003Posts: 11815Posted: Sun May 11, 2014 6:12 am Post subject: Re: Case IH 900 Corn PlanterYeah.what he said. Hook it up fully or it will not operate.

But when I hooked that up and turned it on it beeped and displayed Fail H 13,14,15,16. I have a 12 row planter.

Whats that mean?NEIADanRegularJoined: 24 Dec 2007Posts: 342Location: Northeast IowaPosted: Sun May 11, 2014 12:03 pm Post subject: Re: Case IH 900 Corn PlanterSounds like your monitor needs programmed for your number of rows. Is this a pull type or semi mount planter? On my 955 semi mount you need the electric a;; hooked up for everything to work right. Mine will raise the wings slightly to improve ground clearance when turning.

Which is a great feature in hilly ground. Major improvement over the 7000 I had and 400 IH of years ago.Mike WheelsRegularJoined: 06 May 2010Posts: 28Posted: Sun May 11, 2014 12:37 pm Post subject: Re: Case IH 900 Corn PlanterYeah that's one thing that my dad thought of Dan. I don't know for certain that this monitor was on this planter before I purchased it. Its a pull type planter. Do you know how to program the monitor for 12 rows instead of 16, or would a book tell me how?NEIADanRegularJoined: 24 Dec 2007Posts: 342Location: Northeast IowaPosted: Sun May 11, 2014 12:57 pm Post subject: Re: Case IH 900 Corn PlanterMy monitor has a button that says row/spacing. My memory says you just held it until the function you wanted to change came on screen.

Where are you from? I can get you a number for a dealer in manuals that could probably help you.Mike WheelsRegularJoined: 06 May 2010Posts: 28Posted: Sun May 11, 2014 4:49 pm Post subject: Re: Case IH 900 Corn PlanterHey Dan, Im in central MN. I am planning on buying a manual off ebay for the Seed Flow II monitor. Mine doesn't have any button like that on the outside. I played with the planter today. I came to the conclusion I have a bad power wire before the tractor plug in and also the plug on the planter is messed up.

I was able to get planter to raise and lower, if I held this wire in the right place and propped the plug in just right. Markers didn't really work either, but that could be from the messed up plug in. Either way it was progress!!casecollectorscTractor GuruJoined: 24 Dec 2011Posts: 6392Posted: Sun May 11, 2014 5:01 pm Post subject: Re: Case IH 900 Corn PlanterIf the markers are giving trouble, turn the marker box off and it will reset, then put on left or right and they should go down.

Also after planter is all the way up, hold the lever for a second or so as this seems to make the markers cycle better. Do like the book says and put a chain on one end of the planter at the 20' length as sometimes they will go too far down if having trouble with marker box and that chain will tell you at a glance it is at the right height.Dave H (MI)Tractor GuruJoined: 17 Dec 2003Posts: 11815Posted: Sun May 11, 2014 6:37 pm Post subject: Re: Case IH 900 Corn PlanterThe seed flow II monitor ONLY tells you if there is seed flow in rows 1 - X and it tells you if the hopper goes below a preset level. When it is turned on it does a self test which only takes a couple of seconds and then it will either tell you the test is normal OR it will repeatedly flash those sensors that failed. H means hopper and all the others are row numbers.

Why it is showing sensors that do not exist is a mystery. I do not see anything in the manual to help with that. That's as much as I know. I have yet to take mine to the field but I have done a huge amount of work on it getting ready.

Right now we are replacing a couple of sensors and I am working on the seed charts.Mike WheelsRegularJoined: 06 May 2010Posts: 28Posted: Tue May 13, 2014 4:42 pm Post subject: Re: Case IH 900 Corn PlanterThanks for that info Dave! I know the sensors for the seed drums where both unhook when I started working on planter. Im hoping sooner then later mine will make it to the field. Depends what this rain keeps doing. About the time the sandy ground dries up it rains more. Its one of those springs.Display posts from previous:-All times are GMT - 8 HoursPage 1 of 1Jump to:Most of our stocked parts ship within 24 hours (M-Th).
