Thanks for A2A Luv Saraswat. Open chrome settings, On startup option, go to Open a specific page or set of pages and click on Set of pages. If there are many urls in set of pages, then delete those urls and just add one url of google, if you want to open it as your default url on start up of chrome. To manually go back to the default New Tab page in Chrome, disable the extension by going to the Chrome menu and selecting More tools Extensions and unchecking the “Enable” box to the right of the Replace New Tab Page extension. You can also remove the extension completely by clicking the trash can icon.

There's not an option for it right now, but here's a trick:Type whatever you want into the address bar (like a website or just your search terms), then instead of hitting enter, pressAlt-Enter instead. This will pop what you typed into a new tab instead of taking over the current one.So I guess in way, the feature does exist, just with a spin.If you want it to switch to the new tab when you middle-click (or Ctrl+click), that option doesn't exist yet. So be sure to open the Feedback option from the Edge. menu and ask for it.

So far only 7 people have voted on it, so it's not likely to getbuilt unless more people ask for it.Shawn 'Cmdr' Keene Microsoft MVP - Windows Insider CmdrKeene.com tweet me: @LtCmdrKeene Microsoft MVPs are independent experts offering real-world answers. It is a workaround but is just more evidence 'Edge' is still in grade school and you have to hold its hand when using.Microsoft is bullying its customers to stop using IE and is no longer patching or delivering security updates. Shame on Microsoft!Edge is no where close to being ready for prime time.I have switched to Chrome because it gives me all the advantages supposedly incorporated into Edge; and it gives me a proper, mature favorites / bookmarks system; not the minimal favorites system built into Edge. If I only want a one folder deep navigationsystem it would be OK, but any serious power user has no interest in the stunted favorites system in Edge. And as an added bonus, the use of the middle (scroll) button to open a link in a new tab and then switch focus to it, while not a feature of Chrome, is available as an add on and works great!Using Shift+Ctrl+left-click-link or actually pasting a link into the address bar and hitting Alt-Enter both work. If you are pasting a link from elsewhere its OK but almost all navigation on a web site is done with a mouse for desktop users. All of this rigmarole and other obvious flaws in Windows 10 'File Explorer (Windows)' is a result of 'mobile first' and tough luck for the desktop user. Those horrible flaws in keyboarding and mousing are here to stay. Reason #471 that I 'downgraded to Windows7 Pro because all of the silliness just disappears,James, Santa Barbara CA Windows 10 Professional 64-bit.

I agree that Microsoft isn't forcing anything. However, they are losing browser market share and Edge will only continue the trend. It's too bad really as MS seems to be doing many things right these days. I love my Surface Pro 3. Windows 10 is gettingbetter by the day (although I can't understand why nobody acknowledges the obvious display driver issues).I understand that MS looks at Chrome and wants to emulate Google's success, but it won't happen unless MS has a better product.

Basic tab configuration was one of the best features of IE. I could open a new tab to any page I wanted or configure the newtab to open in the foreground. Lack of the latter feature in Chrome and a belief that Google couldn't care less about my privacy/security meant I used Firefox and IE depending on the mode in which I was using my Surface.Continue improving the product, respond more quickly to customer concerns, and who knows, maybe MS will be able to regain lost ground in the phone market.
